WHAT IS eTWINNING?
eTwinning is a platform for teachers working in a school in one of the European countries, to communicate, collaborate, develop projects, share and feel and be part of the most exciting learning community in Europe.
The eTwinning action promotes school collaboration in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by providing support, tools and services for schools. The eTwinning Portal is the main meeting point and workspace for the action.
It now has 230 277 members and over 5462 projects. It provides online tools for teachers to find partners, set up projects, share ideas, exchange best practice and start working together, immediately using various customised tools available on the eTwinning platform. (taken from www.etwinning.net)
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES FOR US?
There are a lot of advantages of eTwinning. We will list only some of them:
* we meet people from other countries - the most important and the most challenging aim
* in our projects we can make use of our photographic, artistic, language and reading skills
* we can develop our creativity
* we have a possibility to develop our ICT skills
* we meet virtually on TwinSpace - the place for exchanging ideas, a kind of a blog
* we promote our school, our town, our country
* we enhance our tolerance towards other nations
